Are NFL Refree's to protective of the QB.

The NFL today is not what it used to be! The Referee’s are becoming way too protective of the entire player’s not just the Quarterback. But diffidently the quarterback unparticular. I am not saying that there should not be rules to prevent helmet to helmet hits, or low shots to a players knee, but when a referee calls an unnecessary roughness call on a player that is sacking the quarter back, and just so happened to hit his helmet in the slightest bit that is where I draw the line. Yes, the quarterback is the most important player on the team but that does not mean they should get any special treatment from the referee’s. If you are a Professional football player playing in the NFL you should know that no matter what position you play your are going to get hit. And hit hard. Why should a quarter back get any more penalties called in his favor for getting hit a little harder then some one like a Wide receiver, or a running back.

  1. Jason - NIce post! Should we just make it two-hand touch on the quarterbacks at this point to play it safe. Is that what the NFL is looking for?
